We’re delighted to welcome Jamie Marley to our Marine Services team as Senior Compliance Engineer. With extensive experience in marine electrical systems, electric propulsion, and lithium-ion battery technologies, Jamie brings in-depth technical expertise to HPIVS.
In his new role, Jamie will carry out our full range of marine inspections and assessments, support clients in navigating the requirements of ISO 23625:2025 – Small Craft: Lithium Ion Batteries, and help develop our marine compliance training programme.
Jamie says:
“I am excited to join HPIVS at a time when the marine industry is undergoing a significant transition towards electrification and decarbonisation. Having spent my entire career working with marine electrical systems, and the last decade specialising in electric propulsion and lithium battery technologies, I look forward to bringing a practical, real-world perspective gained from commissioning, troubleshooting, and supporting high-voltage marine systems around the world.
“Through my work with manufacturers, vessel builders, and operators, I have developed a strong understanding of the challenges associated with integrating lithium battery technology safely and effectively into marine applications. I am particularly looking forward to contributing this experience to support HPIVS’s work in compliance, risk management, and the continued development of best practice within the industry.
“Most importantly, I enjoy sharing knowledge, collaborating with others and helping bridge the gap between innovation and safe implementation. I hope to bring a combination of technical expertise, industry insight and a genuine passion for marine electrification to the team.”
Jamie’s experience includes roles with Torqeedo, Discovery Yachts, and Sunseeker, alongside many years running his own marine electrical propulsion businesses and involvement in developing related ISO standards. Jamie also serves on the crew for the RNLI.
