The Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2014/68/EU requires that for pressure equipment in categories II, III and IV, operating procedures and personnel shall be approved by a competent third party.

In late 2024, the UK Government announced that it would recognise CE marked products as meeting the requirements of the regulations.  This recognition also applies to welders and weld procedures.

This means that products may be UKCA marked even if they incorporate welding with EU (CE) approvals

For this reason, HPiVS has no reason to support both an EU and UK accreditation for welding & brazing.

Since 1/11/2024, HPiVS Ireland has provided CE approval of welding, even if the end product is intended for the UK market.
But if you are insistent upon a UK welding approval, HPiVS can arrange this via a partner Approved Body.
