HPi-CEproof to auction very first UKCA RCR certificate of conformity for charitable causes

The UKCA MarkingThis initiative has been launched to celebrate the highly experienced Notified Body’s recent appoin

tment as the first and currently only Approved Body empowered to issue “UKCA mark” certificates under the new UK Recreational Craft Regulations.

From 1 January HPi-CEproof will be able to issue new UKCA certificates of conformity. This is vital for the global boatbuilding community and the health of dependent companies as it enables compliance with the new, post-Brexit UK Recreational Craft Regulations.

To mark the moment, the Oxfordshire-based company is going to auction certificate number one, with all proceeds going equally to two very worthy charities with strong environmental credentials: Blue Marine Foundation and British Divers Marine Life Rescue. No fees will be charged for the cost of the certificate.

The UKCA mark will be a requirement for all recreational craft placed on the UK market that would previously have needed a CE mark. Demand is expected to be high, given growth in new boat sales driven by the demand for socially distanced activities experienced this summer.

Craig Morris, HPi-CEproof’s Sales and Marketing Director, explains: “Our long-standing experience as a European Notified Body, ensures our clients will receive a seamless transition from EU Directive into the UK’s brave new regulatory world. UKCA RCR Certificate number one will be a major historical landmark, for ourselves and for the recipient. To mark the occasion, we’d like our chosen marine charities, who have been through a tough year for fund-raising, to be the beneficiaries of our joint endeavours.”

The auction is now open on the Jumblebee platform. Click here to make a bid!
